The Fédération Equestre Internationale is the umbrella organization of equestrian sports. International competitions are organized throughout the world by the FEI. The head office is located in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Netherlands wants to be one of the top 10 best sports countries in the world as a sports country. The performance of top athletes contributes to this. The national government supports this ambition. The national government wants to contribute to bringing and organizing leading and intrinsically appealing international sporting events such as upcoming European Championships to the Netherlands. Also they support the extensive side event program of the European Championships.

Every year Rotterdam Topsport performs again to put Rotterdam in the spotlight with a variety of sports activities and events. Together with the City of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Topsport, Rotterdam Festivals, Rotterdam Partners and Sportbedrijf Rotterdam, we work closely together to make these European Championships an unforgettable moment. Not only during the event, but also in the run-up with an extensive activation program. Rotterdam, Make it Happen!

CHIO Rotterdam
The CHIO Rotterdam is the only Dutch equestrian sporting event with five stars that can join the international top events in the world. With a history of more than 70 years, the CHIO Rotterdam is also the oldest top sport event in Rotterdam. In 2019 there will be no regular CHIO Rotterdam because of the FEI European Championships. Of course in 2020 again. Put in the agenda on Thursday 18 June until Sunday 21 June 2020. Then the 72nd CHIO Rotterdam will take place at the familiar and attractive location "het Kralingse Bos".
